Why PET Strapping

One Material, Four Formats

PET strapping has largely replaced steel and fibre strapping across modern packing lines — it holds strength for its weight, resists moisture and doesn't rust, and recovers tension as a load settles in transit. What changes from job to job is the format: how it's wound, cut and finished.

Below are the four PET Strapping formats we produce. If you're not sure which fits your line, our team can match one to your load type, tooling and volumes.

  • Custom widths, thicknesses and core sizes on request
  • Standard and custom colours available
  • Sample coils available ahead of bulk orders

Colour Variations

Available Colours

PET strapping is produced in green as standard and in the pigmented range below. Colour is most often used to separate grades on a shop floor — one colour per break strain, or per customer, readable across an aisle without reading a label.

Green The industry default for polyester. Reads as PET at a glance on a mixed pallet. Standard
Black Highest UV tolerance in the range — the usual choice for loads staged outdoors. Standard
Blue Colour coding for a route, a customer or a grade, distinguishable across a floor. Standard
Natural / Clear Unpigmented polyester. Lets a printed or embossed mark stay legible along the strap. Standard
White High contrast against dark cartons and shrink-wrapped bundles. Standard
Yellow Highest-visibility tint in the range — used to flag a hold or an inspection. To order
Red Reads as a stop signal at distance; suits quarantined or damaged stock. To order

Colour is added to the melt during extrusion, so it runs through the full section of the strap rather than sitting on the surface — it cannot scuff off against a carton or a forklift tine. Standard colours carry the normal minimum order; a bespoke shade needs a dedicated run and is matched against a sample first. Break strain, elongation and weld quality are held level across every colour.

Specialty Options

Built To Your Specification

Every PET grade below can be built with any of these. They combine freely — a UV-stabilised black embossed strap is one production run, not three.

UV Resistant A stabiliser package carried in the polymer, for coils and strapped loads that stand in direct sun rather than under a roof.
Smooth Or Embossed An embossed face grips the seal and the load harder and cuts strap-to-strap slip; a smooth face feeds more quietly through an automatic head.
Coloured Pigmented through the section in any of the colours above — for grade marking, route sorting or a house colour.
Printed Strapping Your name, a batch code or a handling instruction repeated down the strap, subject to order volume.
Custom Core & Coil Built to the core diameter, coil weight and traverse your dispenser or machine magazine is already set up for.
Heavy-Duty Section A thicker, wider section where the load needs more break strain than the standard grade carries.
Pre-Cut Lengths Cut to a fixed length and bundled, so an operator picks up a strap instead of measuring one off a coil.
Low-Elongation Grade A stiffer grade that gives up less length under load, for dense goods that must not settle in transit.
