Overview

Wrap That Does More Than Hold

Coloured Stretch Film is the same LLDPE pallet wrap as our clear grades, pigmented through the melt so the colour is uniform across the web and does not rub, flake or transfer onto the goods.

Colour is specified for three reasons. Opaque black and white conceal the contents of a pallet, which deters opportunistic theft in transit and at open cross-dock points. Tinted grades let a warehouse sort at a glance — one colour per customer, per route, per production date or per quality-hold status, readable across the floor without a scanner. And a consistent house colour makes your pallets identifiable on a shared trailer or in a third-party warehouse.

White also reflects heat, which helps under open-sided storage; black gives the best concealment. Both are available in hand and machine grades, so switching to colour does not mean changing how you wrap.

Why It Works

Key Features

Full colour range

Black, white, blue, green and red as standard; bespoke tints matched to order volume.

Load security through opacity

Opaque grades hide the contents of a pallet, removing the invitation to opportunistic pilferage.

Colour-coded stock control

One colour per route, customer, batch or hold status — sortable across a warehouse without scanning.

Uniform melt pigmentation

Colour runs through the film, not over it, so nothing rubs off onto cartons or product.

Excellent load stability

Identical containment performance to the clear grades — colour costs you nothing in holding force.

High puncture resistance

Same multi-layer construction, so pigmented film resists corner blow-outs just as well.

UV resistant options

White reflects heat under open storage; UV-stabilised pigmented grades available for yard use.

Recyclable material

Single-polymer polyethylene, recyclable through standard PE film streams.

Colour Variations

Available Colours

Every grade in the stretch film range is available pigmented. Colour is added through the melt rather than coated on the surface, so it runs uniformly through the film and will never rub or transfer onto your goods.

Clear / Natural The standard. Maximum transparency so barcodes and case labels stay scannable through the wrap. Standard
Black Fully opaque. Conceals pallet contents end to end — the usual choice where pilferage is a risk. Standard
White Opaque and heat-reflective, which helps on pallets staged in the open before dispatch. Standard
Blue High-visibility colour coding — commonly used to mark a route, a round or a customer. Standard
Green Clear separation from blue on the warehouse floor; often used for quality-passed stock. Standard
Red Reads as a stop signal at distance — suits damaged, quarantined or hold pallets. To order
Yellow The highest-contrast tint in the range against dark racking and dim aisles. To order
Purple Rarely used elsewhere in a warehouse, so it never collides with an existing colour code. To order

Standard colours are produced routinely and carry the normal minimum order. Colours marked to order, and any bespoke tint, need a dedicated production run — the minimum is higher and the shade is matched against a sample before we schedule it. Opacity, gauge and stretch performance are held level with the clear grade in every colour.

Specialty Options

Built To Your Specification

Colour combines with the rest of the range’s options. The most common request is a UV-stabilised black or white for pallets that are both concealed and stored outdoors.

Coloured Pigmented through the melt in any of the colours above — opacity for security, tint for coding.
UV Resistant A stabiliser package built into the resin, rated for months of direct sun instead of weeks.
Anti-Static Suppresses the static discharge that clings dust to the wrap and gives operators a shock.
One- Or Two-Side Cling Two-side grips irregular loads harder; one-side stops neighbouring pallets sticking together.

Performance Characteristics

Pigment changes what the film hides, not how it holds. These are the properties to compare, and the two that colour genuinely affects are flagged.

Stretchability

Matches clear grade

Pigment loading is set so elongation stays level with the equivalent clear hand or machine film — you keep your yield per roll.

Load retention

High

Residual containment force hours after wrapping, unchanged by pigmentation.

Cling performance

One- or two-side

Tack between layers is formulated independently of colour, so a black film clings like a clear one.

Tear resistance

High

Resistance to edge-nick propagation, held level with the clear grades.

Puncture resistance

High

Impact energy absorbed at corners and protrusions, unaffected by colour.

Film memory

Balanced to grade

Elastic recovery set by grade — hand grades tuned softer, machine grades tuned tighter.

Optical clarity

Opaque to tinted

The one property colour deliberately trades away. Black and white are fully opaque; tints stay translucent enough to read a large label through.

Colour consistency

Batch-matched

Shade is matched batch to batch, so a colour-coded system stays readable as stock rotates.

Performance values are typical for the standard grade and vary with gauge, wrapping method and load profile. Ask for the test report covering your specification.
